Inpatient Acute Mental Health Care

Sundance Hospital provides 24-hour inpatient care for children ages 5 to 17 and adults 18 and older whose acute symptoms that require a safe and therapeutic environment. Our team of trained behavioral health experts understands the importance of meeting the unique needs of each patient with behavioral and psychological disorders.

 

The goal of our inpatient program is to provide stabilization of immediate concerns within a safe and supportive environment. The treatment is short-term with the primary focus being on the reduction of symptoms, medication stabilization, and improvement in using healthy coping skills.

 

The multidisciplinary team formulates individualized treatment plans serve as the foundation for intervention, stabilization, and recovery. Treatment includes group therapy, recreational therapy, medication management, individual therapy, and family therapy. Therapeutic interventions include evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Art Therapy. Discharge planning starts upon admission and is individualized for each patient. A written aftercare plan is developed with the participation of the patient and family. It includes recommendations for further treatment, and follow-up appointments are scheduled for the patient.
